Malvern, Pa. (April 14, 2025) – Meridian Bank announced the appointment of Stephen McWilliams to the position of Regional Commercial Banking Director for Philadelphia and South Jersey.
With over 35 years of experience in the banking industry, McWilliams has specialized in business lending to a variety of industries, credit risk management and team building. In this new role, McWilliams will strengthen the Meridian brand, cultivate relationships in South Jersey, and expand our market share in Philadelphia.
Prior to joining Meridian, McWilliams served as Chief Lending Officer at Republic Bank where he managed multiple commercial lending teams in Philadelphia and South Jersey encompassing a nearly $3B loan portfolio. McWilliams’ commercial banking career began with CoreStates Bank/First Union, followed by PNC, and leadership roles at Commerce Bank, TD Bank and Republic Bank.

McWilliams is a lifelong Philadelphian, born and raised in Upper Darby. He has also contributed to the community with his leadership on the Corporate Executive Board of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Main Line Chamber of Commerce and John Hallahan High School, as well as serving the Montgomery Township Police Pension Fund. Steve obtained his undergraduate degree from West Chester University and a Master’s degree from Drexel University.
